Library


About

Libraries are foundmentals for educational programs, and teaching as they play vital role in academic institutions. By this standards, the Faculty of Earth Sciences had established its own library for researches and referencing purposes in 1970. The Library provieds many services in the Faculty or through the centeral library of King Abdualaziz University.

The library provides its services to students and academic staff by collecting many general and specialized references focusing on many aspects of geology field and its branches. The references include periodical publications, map reports, textbooks, and books in both languages Arabic and English. Major improvements have been introduced to the library that fit the increasing in student numbers from our students or from other faculties within the university. The library shares with the centeral library of King Abdulaziz University 16 major databases that are updated quarterly, and these databases include two important databases: Georef (by the American Geology Institution) and Water Resources.

Working Hours

The library is open during working days (Sunday to Thursday) from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm

Borrowing System

The library allows student with valid university ID to borrow up to five books for a period of two weeks with extendable period if applicable and availability of the title.

Location

The College Library is located on the ground floor of the College of Earth Sciences building, Room No. 15G04.
