Community Service

The Faculty constantly pays special attention to the community and the environment. With excellence in Geological field, the Faculty strives hard to identufy the problems of the people and propose desirable solutions to them by various means such as

1. Conducting multiple training courses in the fields of earth sciences and natural disasters

2. Conducting specialized courses at the secondary school level to bring awareness in home and children

3. Time to time conduct sessions for the civil defence personnel to propose them effective and environment friendly solutions to tackle natural disasters

4. Provide an oppurtunity to high school students to visit the Faculty and it's museum and give them an opurtunity to learn about the environment and geological developments

5. Coordiante with groundwater authorities in securing the valuable resource

6. Work closely with the sanitation department in identifying risks from the leaks of huge water tanks and porpose their maitenance

7. Provide consulting service to Roads and buildings department for better construction of structures and roads to save the environment

8. Cooperation with the Arab Authority for Standardization and Metrology in reviewing projects' standards and specifications that are prepared related to the earth sciences.

9. Cooperate with various organizations in estimating the age of rocks for use in laboratory and research.
