المستخلص : In a previous investigation done by the authors Certain properties of asbestos and Cellulosic liners were investigated. In this investigation, it was planned to study the microstructure, surface roughness and hardness of cast gold restoration by using cellulosic and asbestos liners, The surface hardness was measured asing Vicker Hardness tester , Hommel Tester was used to measure the surface roughness A metallographic examination was used to study the surface texture and surface defects using a metallographic microscope. It was concluded of that (1) the hardness of the gold specimens by using asbestos liner was highes than that of the specimens Cast by cellulosic liner (2) The use of Cellulosic liners produced cast structure with less surface roughness, less pits and voids and foner grain structure.
