Abstract The concentration of 8% botanical extract of the four tested plants ( Artemisia monosperma, Zygophllum cocccineum, Lupinus termis and Brassica tournifortii ) induced histopathological changes in the structure of the midgut integument and fat body of the 5th larval instar resulted from treated 4 th larval instar of Spodoptera littoralis with the above mentioned extracts were those of Zygophyllum coccineum and Lupinus termis ininducing severe damages in the midgut. Botanical extracts of the tested plants induced histopathological damages in the integument of treated larvae represented by degeneration in the cuticle and epidermal cells and detachment from each other was also observed. Water extracts of A. monosperma, Z. cocciniem and L. termis were the most promising in inducing sever skirnkage, damages and indistinction of the fat body cells. Also mid gut show sever damage in detachment of mid gut muscle layers, as well as vacuolization takes place and degeneration of mid gut membrane and epithelial layer withdifferent degrees of effectiveness for all tested plants.
