Libraries are the basic building blocks of any educational program for the students and the staff. The faculty of earth sciences has established its own library for the benefit of the students apart from the central library of the university. Both the libraries are fully equipped with computer aided systems for reading, access control and books in every specialization. The capacity of handling the students’ inflow to the library has increased in past few years to many folds; hence the faculty has also upgraded the entire library area and the availability of books to cater to the needs of the students and researchers from both within the faculty and from other faculties. Many students from other faculties do visit our library to refer to books like the courses Geology 201 and 202 require some references from our library and our library staff provides service to them as well. The library also subscribes to weekly and monthly periodicals from within the Kingdom and abroad.

The library has its own database of books maintained at its premises, and this database of books is updated every three months to be in collaboration with the American Institute of Geology.

The faculty library also lends the books to members of various research centers and institutes at a concessional rate to help them in their research proposals.
