| Winners of a cooking competition organised by the Tourism Institute were awarded Sunday at a special ceremony patronized by Prof Abdullah Mohorji, KAU Vice President.
The Star Chef competition, which was initiated by the former KAU President, Prof Osama s. Tayyeb, was aimed at promoting a sense of competition amongst the students and giving the opportunity to showcase their cooking skills and, according to Prof Mohorji.
Also in attendance in the ceremony were Dr Ibrahim M. Alsini, Dean of the Tourism Institute, Prof Mahmoud Al-Ahwal. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr Hana Al-Naeem, Dean of the Women's Campus.
Ali M. Asiri, of the foundation year, and Dalia A. Wazan jointly won the 1st place with a cash prize of SR6000 for each.
The second place was won jointly by Badr A. Bayazid. Of the Faculty of Medicine, and Mayda'a M. Hejazi, of the Faculty of Economics and Administration. Each of the these two winners got a cash prize of SR4000.
Abdullah N. Abu Rifa'ee, of the Faculty of Environmental Designs, and Dania K. Faraig, of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, won the third place with a cash prize of SR3000 for each.
