6th Career Forum launched

The 6th Career Forum of  King Abdulaziz University (KAU) was launched Sunday by Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, KAU President, at King Faisal Convention Centre.

 The inaugural ceremony of the five-day event, organised by the Deanship of Students' Affairs, was attended by senior KAU executives, including Prof Abdullah Mohorji, KAU Vice President, and Prof Abdulmonem  Alhayani, Dean of Students' Affairs.

 40 private and public companies participated in the five-day event, which is annually held with the aim of creating job opportunities for the students and training them for the world beyond graduation.

Prof Alyoubi congratulated the participants on taking part in the forum and the concurrent job fair, and hailed the constructive cooperation between KAU and the private sector to upgrade the students' skills and abilities to match with the needs of the employment market in general and the private sector in particular.

 Prof Alhayani noted that the event was inspired by the necessity to promote cooperation with public sector institutions with an eye to enhancing the students' employability by means of creating an appropriate environment for preparing them to thoroughly understand the nature of labour market and its practical requirements.

 Dr Mohammed W. Al-Rabee, Vice Dean of Students' Affairs for Alumni, pointed out that the event was held with the aim of giving the students exposure to career development opportunities and possible employers in the private and public sectors.
